A mixed age class is for children from birth to 5 years old. Mixed ages offers the opportunity for children to learn from each other at all different phases of early development as well as from the adults in class: the younger children observe and learn from the older children while they continue to explore their own potential. The older children come to a new understanding of their musical potential in relation to the younger ones and to the adults in the class. This helps create a musical community within a musically rich environment.

Every child can benefit from early exposure to music. We have two Babies song collections and offer a one-two term introduction to Music Together^®. Children are also born with the capacity to make sound, to move their limbs, which is what we eventually need to sing and dance. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to start that musical bond with their child as early as possible.

Classes will meet at The Family Lodge, a senior facility where residents and staff join in for music class. Families participating in this class are mixed ages.
