Mixed Ages (M/A) is our essential Music Together^® class is for children birth to 5 years.  A child can attend our M/A class through all nine song collections. This class follows the recommendations of child development researchers - grouping together children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style, community learning. Younger children can enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children, not quite ready for formal instruction, but old enough to participate in class completely independently, can build confidence and learn by leading the younger ones.  Adults are happy because several children in a family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers - parents, grandparents, nanny - can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this community friendly, family music experience. Materials include a professionally recorded CD as well as access to the music through Music Together's Family Music Zone^®.  Families also receive a beautifully illustrated songbook.  Families enrolling with us for the first time receive a booklet "Music and Your Child."

Babies are alert to the sounds of music and speech as soon as they are born, and musical interactions with their primary care- givers help them to easily learn the music of their culture and grow into confident music-makers. Music is so much fun for you and your new baby. And for your son or daughter, it’s more than just a good time—it also supports their development. 

The Music Together® Babies Class will start your child on the path to a lifetime of musical enjoyment. Specifically designed for infants eight months and younger, this one-semester introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. In your weekly class, you will spend forty-five delightful minutes singing, dancing, and playing with your child, all in the company of other new parents and guided by an early childhood music specialist. You’ll learn how your child is developing musically and leave with lots of ideas on how to play and bond musically at home.

Ready for the next step in music play? Our Big Kids music class helps 3–5 year olds build confidence, focus, and creativity through music! Children will sing, play, and explore musical ideas while practicing early learning skills like rhyming, taking turns, and sharing their own ideas. 

While much of the class will feel familiar to families from our 0-5 mixed-age sessions, we also include activities designed especially for 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds—fun, age-appropriate, and perfect for “big kids” who are growing into the next stage of musical play.

Please note that this is not a drop off program, and parents are still very much involved in making music, well, together :)
